Welcome to our free youth mentoring program, THE MISSION I'M-POSSIBLE LEADERSHIP ACADEMY. 

This is a dynamic and mobile service that operates within the heart of Los Angeles County throughout the entire year. Our program takes mentorship to the places where it's needed most, working inside various schools, YMCA facilities, and community centers. We bring guidance and support directly to the youth, creating accessible opportunities for mentorship that align with their everyday environments.

As a mobile service, we transcend physical boundaries, providing mentorship within the familiar and convenient spaces where young individuals already spend their time. Whether it's within the walls of schools, the energy of YMCA environments, or the heart of community centers, our dedicated mentors are there, offering invaluable support to empower and uplift the youth of Los Angeles County.

This commitment to mobility means that our program is not bound by traditional constraints, or confined to a single location but spans across diverse communities. We adapt to the needs of the community,  ensuring that mentorship is accessible, approachable, impactful, consistent. and available year-round.

Key Program Components:

• Life Skills and Professional Development: We address critical areas such as mental health & wellness, emotional intelligence, stress management, peer pressure, bullying, fostering emotional well-being and resilience. Our curriculum also encompasses vital skills like critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision making, with the goal to build the foundation for success in both academics and personal pursuits. Our program ignites curiosity and innovation through S.T.E.A.M. education such as 3D & UV printing, apparel design, performing arts, mindful meditation, healthy living and project-based learning.

• Academic Support and Enrichment via our Interactive Youth Center: This component focuses on a holistic healing approach to learning, ensuring that students develop a well-rounded skill set that enables them to excel both academically and personally. Guiding mentees towards excellence, we offer insights into career development, financial literacy, and higher education.  This is a dynamic and invaluable resource room within schools, serving as a hub for academic support, collaborative learning, and community engagement. It offers a versatile space where students come together to support one another's educational journeys, fostering a culture of mutual learning and empowerment.

• Beyond the Classroom:  The Mission I'M-Possible Leadership Academy goes beyond the classroom by offering domestic and international service trips, along with enriching local field trips, providing students with hands-on experiences that broaden their perspectives and deepen their understanding of the world. Join us on this enriching journey where success is not just a destination but a continuous process of learning, growth, and boundless opportunities.  We believe that every individual possesses the potential to create positive change and redefine what is achievable. Together, we'll inspire growth, foster learning, and unlock a world of opportunities.

• Real-World Engagement: Through activities such as public speaking, project-based learning, group economics and career readiness, students will gain practical skills that prepare them for success in various aspects of life.  Diving deep into topics such as substance abuse prevention, gang intervention, and philanthropy, our mentees emerge as responsible citizens and compassionate leaders.

• Trailblazers Circle: This is a safe and inclusive space at school where students gather for 1-2 hours of meaningful discussions with BFI mentors. In this empowering environment, students have the opportunity to engage in open conversations about various aspects of life, share experiences, and seek guidance on personal and academic challenges. Mentors provide valuable insights, support, and encouragement, fostering self-confidence, while helping students navigate the complexities of adolescence.  Through open dialogue and mentorship, students gain valuable life skills, build resilience, discipline, structure, emotional control, leadership and develop a sense of camaraderie with their peers. Together, we embark on a journey of discovery, paving the way for a future filled with promise and purpose. "Trailblazer Circle" is where dreams take root, ideas bloom and young leaders are born. 

• Legacy Builders  -  A transformative initiative that equips our young legacy builders with essential skills in economics and financial management. Our program empowers mentees to navigate the complex world of finance with confidence and competence.  We empower the next generation with the knowledge and skills to become savvy financial managers and economic thinkers. Our program is dedicated to teaching fundamental principles of economics and financial management that will set our mentees on a path to success. Through engaging lessons and practical activities, mentees will learn the art of planning, directing, monitoring, and organizing their monetary resources effectively.

             Our comprehensive curriculum covers a wide spectrum of crucial financial topics,     

             including acquiring and maintaining stellar credit (A1 credit), mastering money  

             management, delving into the intricacies of investing, and skillfully balancing portfolios. 

             Our mentees will gain a deep understanding of economic concepts and the importance 

             of sound financial decisions that impact their futures.

             One of the highlights of our program is the hands-on experience our mentees will gain 

             through various financial activities. These activities will not only solidify their theoretical 

             knowledge but also demonstrate the practical implications of their financial decisions. As 

             part of their journey, mentees will undertake a MANDATORY ECONOMIC PROJECT, 

             applying what they have learned to real-world scenarios and showcasing their 

             understanding of economics in action. Join us as we embark on a transformative 

             journey towards financial literacy, empowerment, and economic prowess. Together, we'll           

             equip the next generation with the tools they need to make informed financial choices, 

             secure their futures, and thrive in a dynamic economic landscape.

• Social Responsibility: We emphasize civic engagement, leadership, and philanthropy, fostering a strong sense of responsibility towards the community and promoting positive social impact. Mentees will understand the importance of giving back through various activities and leave a positive impact throughout their local community and around the world. Our community outreach component will provide opportunities for students to lead service projects and volunteer in their community, while building good character traits and receiving community service credit.  Mentees will also hold annual elections for a position on the Youth Council Leadership Team.  The Youth Council within our mentoring program serves as a dynamic and empowering platform designed to amplify the voices and perspectives of young change-makers.

Our Youth Council  leadership team is a dynamic and inclusive platform where young visionaries come together weekly to drive positive change through policy advocacy. Comprising enthusiastic and forward-thinking individuals, our youth council aims to channel the energy and ideas of youth towards shaping impactful social policies that uplift our community.  

Firstly, to provide a platform for youth to actively contribute their fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and community-focused proposals aimed at advancing social policies for the betterment of our community. While also,  providing them with the tools and knowledge to engage in policy discussions, debates and to collaborate on initiatives that address pressing societal challenges. 

Secondly, to cultivate leadership, collaboration, and civic engagement among our mentees. Through open dialogue, strategic planning, and interaction with local stakeholders, our youth  council mentees actively contribute to shaping policies that create a more just and equitable society. 

Through thoughtful discussions, strategic planning, and engagement with local stakeholders, the Youth Council endeavors to drive meaningful change by shaping policies that address pressing societal issues. As council mentees participate actively, they not only wield influence over policy discourse but also nurture crucial skills in research, debating, advocacy, and diplomacy, forging a path towards becoming impactful advocates and leaders who champion equitable and sustainable community development.

Our Youth Council mentees will not only be part of a transformative movement, but will leverage their expertise and also gain valuable skills in research, advocacy, and leadership that will propel them towards a future of making a tangible difference.
