Welcome to The Mission I'M-Possible Leadership Academy
Building Futures Inc. proudly presents The Mission I'M-Possible Leadership Academy, a dynamic, mobile youth mentoring program serving Los Angeles County. This program brings mentorship directly to schools, community centers, churches, parks, and other spaces where young people already gather, ensuring accessibility and alignment with their everyday lives.
Program Components
Life Skills & Professional Development:
Our program equips participants with essential socio-emotional and professional skills, addressing mental health, emotional intelligence, stress management, peer pressure, bullying, and substance abuse. We focus on fostering resilience, teamwork, and decision-making skills through S.T.E.A.M. activities, including 3D printing, performing arts, and mindfulness workshops.
Academic Enrichment:
With a holistic healing approach, we offer support in academics, career exploration, financial literacy, and higher education readiness, helping students build a solid foundation for personal and professional success. This initiative prepares students to navigate personal and economic decisions confidently. Mentees learn about credit, investments, and money management, culminating in a Mandatory Economic Project applying real-world financial concepts.
Mentoring Beyond the Classroom:
Through domestic and international service trips and enriching local field trips via our A.C.T.I.V.E. Extension Program, mentees experience hands-on learning that broadens their perspectives.
Trailblazers Circle:
A safe and empowering space for open dialogue, this mentorship initiative builds self-confidence, emotional discipline, and leadership skills, fostering peer camaraderie and personal growth.
Social Responsibility & Youth Council Leadership Team:
Our program emphasizes civic engagement and community impact. Mentees lead service projects, develop policy proposals, and hold Youth Council leadership positions, gaining skills in advocacy, research, and leadership to shape a just and equitable society. Students may run for roles such as President, Vice President, Commissioner of Technology, and more, requiring a minimum 3.0 GPA. These positions foster leadership development and provide practical governance experience.
